Treatment Options - How Much Rolfing Is Enough Rolfing?Traditional Rolfing – ‘the Recipe’Traditional Rolfing Therapy is a ten session process - 'the recipe'. Rolfing has an Wholistic approach to healing in which the body is viewed and treated as a whole entity. In the Rolfing 'ten series' the various aspects of the body are, firstly, differentiated from each other and then re-integrated in a process that brings alignment and balance. Rolfing outside ‘the recipe” A common misconception is that Rolfers only work within the classic 10 session Rolfing process often referred to as 'the recipe'. This is not the case. It is not always necessary to go through the full series to enjoy many of the benefits of Rolfing. While obviously the Ten series will be a more comprehensive and predictable process some individuals for a variety of reasons cannot undertake the entire process but still have a great need for aspects of the structural bodywork that characterizes Rolfing. Some may require more specific work for pain relief so that they can simply get back to living their lives. An alternative to the 'ten series' is a shorter series of more targeted sessions. While still following the principles and insights of Rolfing it is possible to focus more on particular problems and a lot of good can still be achieved in this way. Each Rolfing session is a minimum of 90 minutes and you can Make a Booking here and view my hours of availability. Remedial Bodywork As well I offer a service at the Remedial level of therapy for those people who need short term work for immediate problems. Whether working at the Wholistic or Remedial levels of the therapeutic paradigm my work is always informed by the approach and the insights of Rolfing. Remedial sessions can be either 60 or 90mins in length.

"I've done martial arts for almost twenty years and have suffered all kinds of
back, joint and muscular injuries. I've tried osteopaths, chiropractors and masseurs, none of them compare to a
good Rolfing session with Gary. He's fixed problems I've had for years which nobody else has been able to
rectify. If you've got serious muscular or joint problems give Gary a try. You won't regret it."

“I had my first Gua Sha treatment with Gary in about 1998. At that time I was
suffering from as many as two severe migraines a week which was destroying my life. Gua Sha did not completely
get rid of the migraines but it reduced their severity to a level where I could cope. Quite often the relief
was almost instantaneous. It also seems to have reduced their frequency and now I get about one migraine a
month. I’ve also had a tendon tear in my left shoulder successfully treated with Gua Sha and it helps me with
general neck pain. I’m a Gua Sha addict and still have a treatment along with some Rolfing about every six
weeks. As to the marks I’d rather have the ‘colour’ for a few days than the pain and it’s a great conversation
starter”
